We sort out the blueberries from the debris, rinse them and place them in a colander. Unlike other berries, blueberries do not require long cleaning, removal of tails, leaves, and twigs. Leave it in a colander for a while to allow the water to drain.

After the excess water has drained, transfer it to a saucepan and mash the blueberries. Blueberries are crushed in any convenient way, and it is not recommended to use metal objects for “raw jam”. You can do this with a masher or grind it with a blender.

Pour a kilogram of sugar into the crushed blueberries. Leave for 30-40 minutes so that the berries release their juice. Then add another kilogram of sugar and mix thoroughly. Let it sit for another 15-20 minutes, let it sit for some time until all the grains are completely dissolved.

In the meantime, let's deal with packaging. We wash and sterilize the jars and boil the lids.

Transfer the well-mixed blueberries into prepared jars and sprinkle a thin layer of sugar on top (1-1.5 centimeters thick).

Close or screw the lids on the jars. There is no need to turn this workpiece over. Store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dark place.

You can add additional ingredients to blueberries, such as berries and even fruit. Blueberries go well with almost any berries, be they sour or sweet: raspberries, strawberries, wild strawberries, cherries, gooseberries and others. You can also add honey or nuts to the pureed blueberries for taste.
