Today I want to present to your attention a recipe for homemade cookies in a gas pan from the distant past. It is quite easy to prepare. Progress does not stand still, and, naturally, the Soviet version was replaced by an electric waffle iron. The operating principle of this technique remains the same. The only difference is that it does not need to be heated on a gas stove!

I still have the Soviet model, but I don’t have a gas stove! Therefore, to make homemade cookies in a mold, I will use an electric waffle iron!

Ingredients

  • Chicken egg - 2 pcs.
  • Sugar - 100 gr.
  • Milk - 250 ml
  • Butter - 200 gr.
  • Wheat flour - 350 gr.
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp.
  • Baking powder - 2 tsp. (without slide)
  • Vanillin – 1.5 g.

Cooking process

Grind softened butter with sugar.

Please note that the oil does not need to be heated to liquid state. Our goal is to achieve a creamy consistency. Beat with a mixer at low speed until smooth.

Add the eggs and beat again at low mixer speed.

Add milk and stir. The milk should be at room temperature.

Squeeze a tablespoon of lemon juice and also add to the mixture.

Mix the sifted flour with baking powder and vanilla. Add the bulk mixture into the dough in parts. The consistency of the mixture should be like pancakes. Let the dough rest for 20 minutes.

Grease the waffle iron with butter or vegetable oil. Turn on and wait 5-10 minutes until it warms up. Place the dough (2.5-3 tablespoons) as in the photo and close tightly.

Bake the cookies in the tins for about 5 minutes until the crust is golden brown, depending on the model of waffle iron. From this amount of dough you can prepare 10 waffles measuring 10*10 cm.

If desired, you can add finely chopped fruits to the dough. But you need to keep in mind that adding juicy fruits increases the baking time of the waffles.

It is better to serve waffles prepared according to a homemade cookie recipe in a gas pan warm - it’s much tastier. Although they don’t have time to cool down, they fly away with a bang! Decorate with berries powdered sugar, ice cream or your favorite topping.

If the cookies do not come out of the pan well, try removing them with a knife. Gently pick up the edges of the cookies and pull them down. The dough itself contains a lot of oil and during the frying process, it lubricates the surface of the pan well. But, it can also come out, spilling onto the stove. Using margarine, you can avoid this by 80%. The dough itself can also come out of the pan if you add too much of it. You just need to reduce its amount.

2. In another bowl, mix sugar, eggs and mayonnaise. Beat with a mixer until a homogeneous mass is formed.

4. Heat the frying pan on the stove (you can use it not only on a gas stove, I have a ceramic pan and everything went fine).
