  • high content of B vitamins;
  • selenium - takes care of our thyroid gland;
  • vitamin A - responsible for healthy hair and skin;
  • thanks to vitamin C, immunity will always be at the proper level.

Why should you choose turkey liver?

Its calorie content is 2.5 times higher, so it can be safely called a delicacy. It is because of the high fat content that the dish turns out more tender and tastier. I suggest we talk about turkey liver recipes: in a slow cooker, in a frying pan, with onions, in sour cream, etc.

Unlike chicken, turkey liver is larger and has a dense structure. Therefore, it takes 15-20 minutes to prepare, no less. To cooked in a frying pan the liver retained all its benefits, acquired a luxurious taste and saved our time, there are several secrets:

  1. If you are cooking with onions, add them to the pan first. Therefore, cut it into large rings or half rings so that the onion does not burn.
  2. For the dish in sour cream choose a low-fat product. This way the meat will have a delicate creamy taste, and the calorie content will not be exceeded.
  3. The first quarter of an hour should be cooked over medium heat without a lid. When each piece is no longer pink, reduce the heat and simmer under the lid for 5-7 minutes.
  4. It is good to add seasonings such as: ground black and white pepper, dried or fresh dill, green basil, parsley leaves.
  5. If you want to prepare a thick sour cream sauce, you can add a little flour (first 1 teaspoon, then a couple more if necessary) and water to the sour cream. You can find a detailed recipe with photos below on the page.
  6. The dish should be simmered in sour cream for no more than 5 minutes, otherwise it will curl into flakes. If this does happen, add a couple more tablespoons of sour cream and immediately turn off the pan.

Let's get straight to the recipes for the most common dishes for daily cooking. and for diet.

To stew turkey liver with vegetables and sour cream in a slow cooker, you will need a minimum of ingredients and very little time. The following recipe is suitable for children and dietary nutrition, since the ingredients are not fried. Step by step recipe in a slow cooker will give a complete picture of the cooking technology:

  • liver – 0.5 kg;
  • a couple of onions and the same number of carrots;
  • salt to taste;
  • ground pepper;
  • half a glass of sour cream 10-15% fat content.

  4. Fry the liver in the same oil until half cooked, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Return the vegetables to the multicooker bowl, add a little water, literally half a glass. Set the “Extinguishing” mode and leave under the closed lid for 20 minutes.
  6. After a while, add sour cream and a pinch of flour to the dish and you can immediately turn off the multicooker. Let the liver with vegetables remain covered for a while. When serving, sprinkle with freshly chopped dill or green onions.

  1. What could be the ideal side dish for such a dish? Yes, almost everything you like: unsweetened oatmeal, rice, buckwheat, mashed potatoes, cabbage or tomato and cucumber salad.
  2. The delicate structure of the liver emphasizes the juiciness of fresh vegetables and perfectly complements any porridge. And the thick sour cream sauce with vegetables will not leave anyone indifferent.

  • a piece of bacon about 50 grams;
  • 4 tbsp. spoons of soy sauce;
  • a couple of tbsp. spoons of lemon or lime juice;
  • olive oil;
  • bulb.

Preheat the oven for ten minutes. The better it is heated before the liver is placed in it, the juicier the dish will be. Preparation:

  1. Wash the liver and cut into 2-3 large pieces. Place them in a bag or cover with cling film. Use a meat mallet to pound each piece.
  2. In a bowl, mix the marinade ingredients: soy sauce, 2 tbsp. spoons of olive oil, lemon juice, pepper, salt - optional.
  3. Place the entire liver into the marinade and stir. Cover with a lid or film and put it in the refrigerator temporarily.
  4. Cut the bacon into cubes 3-4 mm thick and a centimeter or two wide. Chop the onion into half rings.
  5. Take out a baking sheet and line it with foil. You can take a glass baking dish. Place half the bacon on a baking sheet and half the onion on top.
  6. Place the liver on top of the “pillow” and cover with the remaining onions and bacon.
  7. Pack the top with foil. Place in the oven for 40 minutes at 170-180 degrees.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle with grated cheese and continue baking for 5-6 minutes without covering.
  9. Leave the finished dish on the table to cool and “relax”. Serve hot.

There are some dishes that the multicooker is a great success, and these include liver, be it beef, pork or poultry. Some people are not particularly enthusiastic about this offal because of its specific taste and smell. But if you follow all the recommendations for preparation (soaking), and then simmer the liver in a slow cooker with various vegetables, spices, and even sour cream, you will get an aromatic, tasty, juicy dish that you will surely love.

Ingredients

  • 400 g turkey liver
  • 1 onion
  • 1.5 sweet peppers
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 spoon of oil
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • salt and spices to taste
  • 2-3 bay leaves

Preparation

1. It is recommended to soak any liver before cooking. For poultry liver this is at least 2-3 hours, for beef or pork liver it is at least overnight. If the liver has a pronounced odor, then it is better to soak it in milk. Then the liver is washed and cut into portions.

2. The onion must be peeled, washed and cut into cubes or half rings.

3. Sweet peppers need to be cleared of seeds, the stalk cut out, and cut into thin short strips.

4. Fresh carrots need to be washed thoroughly with a hard sponge, and if necessary, scrape them. Then you need to grate it on a coarse or fine grater. If you like large pieces of carrots in a dish, cut them into slices or strips.

5. Pour a spoonful of oil into the multicooker bowl and pour in the chopped vegetables. Turn on the “Frying” (or “Baking”) mode.

6. Fry, stirring, for 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables soften and release their juice.

7. Now you can add the liver. You can salt and pepper it right away; it won’t turn out tough. The ideal option would be to use salt and regular black pepper - it perfectly sets off the taste of the offal. Fry for another 15 minutes.

Liver is a frequent guest on our table; our list of priorities includes liver cakes, pancakes and meatballs, and just stewed liver. It turns out delicious if you stew this product with vegetables, mushrooms, sour cream, and tomato. It turns out just perfect with sour cream, so most often I cook it this way.

The multicooker does an excellent job of cooking liver, so I try to stew it in it more often - it’s easier, although not faster than on the stove. Even if you are not delighted with liver, you can try to cook poultry liver, because it does not have that specific taste, because of which it is undeservedly rejected.

To prepare turkey liver in a slow cooker, prepare the products according to the list - there are not many of them, and they are all quite affordable.

Turkey liver is sometimes simply rinsed with running water. But you might want to soak it. Then pour cool water over the offal and leave for an hour, then drain the water, cut off all excess - films, veins. Cut large pieces into 2-3 parts.
